J. David Stephens is known as a creative and proactive leader with a pastors' heart. His diverse ministerial experience includes three years as an evangelist, four years as a church planter/pastor, 20 years as State Youth and Christian Education Director before being appointed as and Administrative Bishop. Prior to coming to Florida Bishop Stephens served as Administrative Bishop in Tennessee, He filled the same office in Northern New England 1998-2002, and Kentucky 2002-2008. He is a graduate of Lee University and The Church of God Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Joyce have two married children, both in ministry, and three grandchildren. 

     

Dusty Wilson

Bishop Dusty Wilson accepted the call of God upon his life at an early age. His journey into full time ministry began in 1980 and it also marked the year that he married Jackie. Together their ministerial background includes a vast experience of television ministry on networks such as the P.T.L. Club, 700 Club, 100 Huntley Street, TBN and many other broadcasts including hosting their own program while pasturing in Dallas Texas on Daystar Christian Television. It was in Dallas Texas, while pastoring a leading church, their ministry began to flourish. Over the years Dusty has served the church in various capacities such as: Evangelist, Youth Pastor, Minister of Music, Associate Pastor, Senior Pastor, District Overseer and State Youth & C.E. Director. He has also served on numerous boards and committees. The Jackie Wilson miracle story has been viewed around the world via 911, the network television show, and has been the cover story for the Evangel Magazine. Bishop Wilson has shared his dynamic preaching style with a variety of cultures and age groupings from all around the world including Israel, Russia, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, Canada and Trinidad. Most recently he has accomplished a Master's Degree from the Church of God Theological Seminary in Church Leadership and Administration. Dusty and Jackie live happily with their three teenage children Dustin, Jordan and Morgan.

 


David Nitz

David Nitz began preaching in 1978, but his ministry actually started when he was just a boy. Born in Prince George's County, Maryland, and raised in a musical family, he began traveling and singing with them at age five. In1976 he married Amy Willetts. Together they continued in ministry with David's family until February of 1978 when he answered the call to pursue his own ministry. In 1980 David and Amy moved to Cleveland, Tennessee to attend Lee College and began ministering with Danny Murray and Harvest. After leaving Cleveland, David served as an evangelist, youth pastor, and music and worship pastor in Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida. In 1990 he accepted the senior pastorate of Suncoast Worship Center in Englewood, Florida.

 

Under his leadership the church grew from a small congregation to a church of 500. In 1995 he accepted the senior pastorate of the University Church of God in Tampa, Florida and served there for eleven and half years. During that time he helped bring health and healing to the congregation and made numerous improvements to the historic property. His ministry has focused around worship and prayer, in addition to a strong emphasis on missions. He has served on the state mission's board, state youth board, and was starting his third term on the state council for the Church of God in Florida before accepting the appointment as Evangelism Director for North Florida.

 

He is an anointed worship leader and an excellent writer with numerous songs and published articles to his credit. He presently serves on the national music board for the Church of God. He and Amy have three sons, Mike, James, and Phillip, two daughters-in-law Leigh Ann and Bonnie, and are the proud grandparents of Tobias Elliot (Toby), and Nigel Harper.

 

Waymon Miller

Waymon Miller currently serves as the Ministerial Enrichment Director for the Florida Church of God State Office. Before moving to Florida, he served for 16 years in other offices as State Youth Director. The Millers moved to Florida in 1991 to serve as State Youth Director, then as State Evangelism Director. He has served in his current position for 9 years.

 

After receiving his B.A. degree at West Coast Christian College, Waymon's graduate work was done at the Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Fresno, California. In addition to 35 years in state administration, he has served as pastor and evangelist. General Board appointments include International Youth & Christian Education Board and the School of Ministry International Board.

 

Waymon was instrumental in the development of Florida's Pastoral Enrichment Program, the Pastoral Covenant Group ministry, and more recently the FUSION initiative. Also the new Regional Bishops and Elders Ministries were developed under his leadership. In addition to these ministries, he also heads the State Ministerial Care program.

 

Brother Miller has been married to Wilma for 41 years. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Earle Cushman

Earle Cushman, an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, currently serves as the South Florida Evangelism Director. He previously served as the Multi-Cultural Director for our office and will continue to do so in his new role since he has a wealth of experience in this area. Dr. Cushman has also served as Multi-Cultural Director for Los Angeles. He has also served as State Youth & Christian Education Director for Missouri, New England, Pennsylvania, and Northern Ohio.

 

Prior to becoming part of the Sate Team, he served as the Senior Pastor of the World Harvest Worship Center in Pembroke Pines, FL. He has pastored churches in Maine, Ohio and Connecticut.

 

He has stated that he is motivated by the fact that Florida is one of the greatest harvest fields in the world. At the present there are over 40 missions and many of these are ready to be organized.

  

Roger Cash

Roger Cash was credentialed with the Church of God in 1965 and became an Ordained Bishop in 1975. He pastored churches in Virginia for 10 years before moving to Florida in 1977. He was appointed to serve as pastor of the Citrus Springs Church of God in August 1977 and remained there for 22 years.

 

Brother Cash has served as President of the Florida Lee Alumni Chapter, State Coordinator for Christian Service Brigade, District Overseer and has served on the Florida State Council, Youth and C. E. Board and Evangelism Board.

 

In 1999, he was elected to serve as North Florida Evangelism Director to fulfill the term of the newly appointed Ministries Director. He was re-elected to serve in 2000 and again in 2002.

 

In 2004, he was appointed by Administrative Bishop, Donnie W. Smith, to serve as the Executive Director of the Church of God Association of Christian Schools and MIP/School of Ministry Coordinator. In 2006, additional responsibilities were added so that he is now responsible for Ministerial Licensure and all phases of Education including MIP, School of Ministry and CAMS. Roger and his wife, Jane, have 3 sons, Chris, Paul and Anthony, 2 grandsons, Scott and Liam, and 1 granddaughter, Reilly.

  

Joyce Stephens

Women's Ministries President

Joyce Stephens is a committed Christian woman with a leadership style that demonstrates grace and excellence. She was the first female born at Fort Stewart, Georgia, where her father was stationed in the army. Living most of her young life in Monroe, Michigan, she met her husband, Jim, at Lee University. Before assuming the position of Florida's Women's Ministries President she served in Tennessee, Northern New England and Kentucky in the same capacity. She served as a member of the International Women's Ministries Board from 2000-20008, and presently is a member of the Smoky Mountain Home For Children Board of Directors. If you want to evoke a smile from Joyce, just mention her family, and especially the grandchildren.

 

Tom Frye

Tommy Marshall Frye holds an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Administration.  He also holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Professional Counseling.  His earned Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is in Christian Counseling with a dissertation on "The Faith Reason Controversy." Tom is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH 8374) in the state of Florida and an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God. He has pastored five congregations and served as District Overseer at two of those sites. He has also served on state boards, such as Evangelism, Youth & CE, and State Council. Dr. Frye is currently the Administrator at the Heart of Florida Youth Ranch (HOFYR) outside of Ocala, Florida. He is married to Char and they have one son, Joshua.
