Church of God Association of Christian Schools
The Church of God Association of Christian Schools (CGACS) was organized in the 1970′s. CGACS is an association of Christian Educators and Child Care Providers that believe it is a privilege and a blessing for children to be cared for and educated in a loving, Christian environment. We live in a world today in which the enemy is blatantly after the hearts and minds of our children. Our schools literally are a battlefield. CGACS sees it as a mission and an incredible opportunity to teach children from birth through high school about the love and truth of Jesus. CGACS does not promote preschools or private Christian schools as “church-owned businesses,” but as ministries.
As an accrediting association recognized by the State of Florida, this association oversees and grants CGACS licenses to operate child care facilities as an integral part of the local church. CGACS’s Child Care Standards Manual contains the guidelines that each child care facility must adhere to and permits them to claim religious exemption from licensure with the state or county governmental agencies.
In order to be licensed through the Church of God Association of Christian Schools, a center must pass required inspections, participate in continuing educational training for staff members and pay an annual licensing fee based on the capacity of the center.
CGACS also inspects and supervises the organization of private Christian schools that operate as a part of a local church ministry. CGACS assists in the accreditation of schools and the certification of teachers. Academic Bowls are sponsored each year as part of the CGACS commitment to educational excellence.
If your church body has a burden for children and is interested in starting a school or preschool, please call our office and we will be happy to work with you or click on this link for more information about the Church of God Association of Christian Schools.
